What has been a defining learning experience in your career this far?
A defining learning experience in my career has been learning the difference between alignment and conformity. I have seen how easily the two can be confused.
Every team needs common sense, structure, and a shared direction. But people, myself included, often do their best work when they are not simply expected to fit into the same mould. We need space to question assumptions, think differently, and bring our own strengths and ideas forward.
For me, strong leadership means creating clarity around the goal while giving people the trust and freedom to contribute in their own way. It means encouraging individuality without losing direction. It is not about conformity, but about forward thinking. It is not about silos, but about collaboration. That is how teams create real value instead of wasting energy on staying within narrow boundaries.
